Go to the XMB > Settings > BD/DVD Settings

Scroll down to BD 1080p 24Hz Output (HDMI)
    Set it to "Off"

    Might / might not work.

XMB (cross-media-bar) is the interface the playstation uses, game/video/images/settings are on the horizontal bar and all the options are on the vertical bar.

So scroll left to the settings icon and press x, then scroll down to BD/DVD setting, press x and that will give you a list of settings which you can change.

XMB is the Cross-Media-Bar. Basically, the main menu

Eh, when youre in the game, press the PS button in the middle of the controller, choose 'Quit Game', not 'Turn off Console' and that will bring you to the main menu or 'XMB'

ah, the screen that is displayed when i press the button in the middle of the controller?

Yeah when youre in a game and you tap the PS button it bringd you to the XMB. THeres not much you can do since your still 'in game', but while playing the game if you hold down the PS button for 2 seconds, you get a black screen with 4 options.

If you choose 'quit game' youll be able to change the setting of the PS3, under the settings icon on the XMB,

Look at my instructions above to change the Bluray settings.

    Hi Nickthebubble

eject any disk thats in the ps3
    Turn off your ps3
then hold your finger on the power button untill it beeps
after it beeps it should say something about screen setup
