    ...is awesome.

Traffic lights at the south campus junction haven't worked since yesterday. Rang the Gardai to ask them to - pretty please, so nobody gets hurt - come out and direct the traffic, but apparently they're on a 'go slow'. It's pretty dangerous out there.

The power was off in Tesco for about a second too. I was kinda hoping there'd be a mad riot and everyone would start looting but their back-up generator must have kicked in cause it was back on in no time. No fun.

Couldn't tell you but i know that during the blackout on Friday night we drove past Manor Mills and there was a Fire Engine, a Fire van and a Fire 4x4 so maybe that has something to do with it?!

Na that was because there were people stuck in the lifts in the apartments above manor mills.

Doesn't seem to be affecting the wider area (no power outages in Celbridge) so it must be a local problem.

Power went out today as well, that set of lights were off last night as well but all the others were fine.

You don't realise just how little natural light there is in the buildings until the electricity goes. The Arts block and JH were horrible to walk through.

Yeah the Arts Block was ridiculously dark, I must have walked into about twenty people in there :pac:

Holy sh*t... I would have died.....

The other night when it happened we went on an epic journey to Dunnes to get 100 tealights, then as soon as I paid for them the power came back on. We came back to my apartment, and the power went again sometime later. We flicked on the candles and watched my boyfriend playing one person solitaire on his laptop for 2 hours before deciding. "Screw it we're going to bed."
We awoke at about 6am when all the lights in my room flicked on, along with my laptop and radio and my boyfriend was convinced there was someone else in the room with us that did it. So I had to calm down a hysterical 20 year old before getting back to sleep...

Then today, most of 1st year English was watching a play in the venue when it went again (the company had come down from the theatre in Tallaght to perform the play we're studying on the course.) Chris had the fantastic idea of leading us out to the amphitheatre where we sat for 5 minutes, soaked up the sun- and then ran screaming as we were pelted with hailstones. Needless to say, the actors got the biggest applause of their career and we missed the second half of the play...

OH MY GOD AS I WRITE THIS THE GUY IN THE ROOM ABOVE ME IS HAVING FURIOUS SEX AND I CAN HEAR EVERYTHING!:eek::eek::eek:

I couldn't help it! I was woken up this morning by the sound of his morning glory and my roommate, two rooms down from me was woken by it as well!

About the lifts...I would have quite simply died. I HATE lifts and being in small confined spaces. No way would I last!!!
The entire debacle about the play qwas quite funny. Some people got very angry that they couldn't get into the hall as it was in the venue and stated they wouldn't be able to answer the question in the exam now. The play is in the book and was running for an entire week in Tallaght!

Just watched someone fall over on the path and the person behind her just tried so hard not to laugh. I was laughing at the person trying to not laugh!! Brilliant fun!

I was on the PCs in the Callan and they all just shut down! Then I walked round town, saw about half the town's traffic lights out of action. Then went to Tesco and everything seemed to be fine there until all the lights and Tannoys stopped.

I was also at the reading room in the Arts block, trying to scare people by illuminating my face with my phone, so they could only see my face. But they probably thought I was a right eejit.

    Yeah I'd say so.

I was driving in at about half one when it happened and all traffic lights from Tesco all the way to college were out. Maynooth village is a dangerous place to drive already without the lack of lights.

Yeah it was off this morning when I got up at about half 8, came back a few minutes later though. My housemate said it went at about 3am. I wonder what it is that's doing it?
