Ah touche, but now they have a choice

Tonight's Raw could be hit or miss imo.

I'd expect RAW to be really heavy on the promo packages and in-ring promos; to finalise the storylines for Mania. It usually does a good rating but also usually a poor show.

I'm def more interested in iMPACT this week but overall Mania has had one of the best buildups in years...prob since Batista/HHH at WM21... Can't wait to see what they come up with :)

Raw should be good tonight, its the last show before Mania in fairness.

And I'll give Pete Rose a chance, who would have thought Shatner was going to be that good!?

Absolutely its been a very very solid run up to Mania this year but other than Vince/Bret and Sheamus/HHH id imagine they'll do a lot of the last minute hard sells for the PPV on Smackdown..

I really hope they center SD on Edge vs Jericho; been disappointed with their build-up so far. They need a killer promo segment and storyline punctuation. With all this "spear" talk I forget that the title is on the line :(

More than likely, the 10th person will be added to the Money in the Bank match on Raw.

On the Wrestlemania pre-show thing on SKY 743...MVP comes on and says that this Money in the Bank has 10 participants.

This whole spear thing being the basis of their fued is F'N ridiculous..

If he wasnt on SD (not that that will def stop them) there almost would have to be interaction between kane & Rose.

I think WWE.com might have teased that when Rose was first announced so it could be very likely to happen

    I hope not.

The angle has been set and now it just needs to wait until Mania.

Nope, I don't think so. Accor to his blog on his facebook, he doesn't mention he'll be at Raw at all

I'd be surprised if Bret wasn't on RAW tonight since it's the last one before Mania...

Isnt it a triple taping tonight? EDIT: Quadruple, Superstars too!

RAW, NXT and Smackdown. They will be tight enough for time I assume.

For anyone that didn't see it this weeks smackdown, on sky sports 3 is titled Smackdown Presents the Road To Wrestlemania

This makes me think Smackdown may be more focused on the promo's and highlight packages than RAW will be.

    RAW should be good :)

Oh and the Pete Rose thing.

    Rose>Russo

Almost certain that this will be Kofi Kingston. He's clearly not injured and it would be a shame if they weren't to use him at all. He's also a potential winner, with only christian looking likely at the moment. Although I'm still hoping for a big MVP push!!

Been an OK show so far. That 'Be Yourself' song has to be the crappiest Mania song ever.

Batista as a heel is so full of win..:o

Oh dear they're chanting 'You can't wrestle' at Cena and he's twice the worker Dave is. Idiots.

At least they were chanting and not sitting in silence like some other promo's over the last few weeks. A reaction is better of any type is better than no one caring.

Not a bad show but as expected it was a huge advert for Sunday.

Highlight for me was Batista's promo. Good to see Seamus win clean in a match that was better than i expected.

What was the point in that Diva's match?

Looking forward to Sunday. This year has been set up well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,468 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

Orton was f*cking slick when he came in and cleared house off the tag.

    really seamless i thought.

it disappointed me that he got beaten with one offensive move though, even though it got Sheamus a much needed clean win.

Bret's promo was awkward enough i thought, and fans still don't really care. Vince's emergence rescued the heat.

Batista as a heel is really growing on me. man, think of the years we could have had with him as THIS character.

the HBK/Kane match with the Undertaker interference was brilliantly done. a complete act of defiance on HBK's part. it did its job in making be believe that little bit more that he could win on Sunday. it even throws a spanner in the myth 'whoever gets the upper hand on Raw loses on PPV' because both men made a strong case. a huge part of me wants the match to main event Wrestlemania.

the traditional side of me still reckons it should be one of the title matches.

Wow, what they did with Kane/Pete Rose didn't look weird at all.. "Your luck has change, huh?" before dragging him into the changing room..

I liked what I saw of HHH/Orton v Sheamus/Legacy, though I just saw what they had on the WWE website.
Orton seems to be getting a good reaction from the crowd, has he gone face without me realising? I know Legacy are being played as heel, but I wasn't aware that Orton had switched.

I liked Miz v Morrison too, I thought the banter between Show and Truth at the announce table was funny.
    "He got lucky"
"It's not luck son, that's skill"

    he's in possible transition.

i don't think WWE are committed to the switch yet.

He's actually getting more of a pop now for his in-ring work than he is necessarily for his entrance, or his promos, or anything like that. it's can just be so slick and believable.

in fact he still gets booed during his promos from what i can see.

for me, he's a heel all day long, and a face switch would be very difficult to make work. people who cheer him enjoy it's mannerisms, and commitment Orton gives to the character.

    DO NOT TURN HIM FACE!

the task is for WWE to give him some faces to come against that are believable.

Yeah, I've found Orton a far more believable heel than face. He's one of the better heels in the WWE. But he is pretty slick with his moves, like when he was delivering those scoop slams, and his trademark backbreaker.

    .

Their rarely ever is a point to any Divas match on Raw, what makes you think this may have been an exception.?:pac:

Hopefully they don't waste time at Mania by inserting one of silly cluster**** tag matches either.
The opening segment was solid, they haven't really emphasised the significance of HBK career potentially coming to an end so at least they tried to do that before Mania.

Show was fantastic on commentary and I enjoyed the Miz/Morrison match. I still think it’s a cert that that Showmiz will win, but they have tried to get over Jo Mo/Truth as serious contenders to the tag belts, something which should be applauded.

Kofi v Kozlov was a nothing match, Kozlov will be lucky to last till Christmas. :pac:

The handicap match was ok, and it was the right result, although I still maintain Ted is nowhere near as charismatic as Cody. Ted speaking on the mic before the match was very lifeless, while Cody was much more natural.

Bret tried his best with his promo and he had some nice lines about his and Vince's family but nobody cared until Vince came out. :(

The final segment was fantastic; Dave is so awesome as a heel. I actually want him to retain his title at Mania and hold it for a few months, until possibly Summerslam where Cena or someone else finally dethrones him.
Those people chanting you can’t wrestle at Cena need a time machine to send them back to 2006 ASAP though.

    Oh and

"I don't see people. I see money, money, money, money, money. Dollar signs, dollar signs, dollar signs, dollar signs. Some have more money, some have less. I see a lot of fat people and you have to pay for 2 seats, so thank you. Thank you for your money."

the single greatest thing that's come out of his mouth.

that whole 'thank you for your money' bit was utterly brilliant.

    Hmmmm...

I think he as spent so much time as a heel there is little left for him to do as one. He has the experience to be a big time face now. WWE need a realistic persona as a face on RAW. It seems to be working for edge on smackdown.

HHH is also due a heel turn, HBK will be going missing for a while so there is an opening. There is also time to make the change while Cena and Batista continue the feud they have.

The thing about Orton is his character works so well as a heel because its basically just an extension of who he is in real life.. which is bit of an arrogant ahole.. I just cant see him as a convincing out and out face

batista is just awesome since turning heel his promo last night was great on the other hand cenas promos seem to be getting more and more scripted and imo worse

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,199 ✭✭✭G-Money

Legacy's promo was woeful. There was one line where Ted DiBiase said something like Orton would be exposed as "arrogant and shameful" or some rubbish like that. I was thinking "who gives a f**k?" That's the problem with WWE promo's sometimes. They throw in this other stuff that doesn't seem to matter, doesn't make sense and no-one gives a s**t about.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,045 ✭✭✭Vince135792003

Last night was a steady show.

To use a teaching analogy, it's the 20 minutes you do at the end of the day to revise what you hope was learned. Nothing very exciting but more valuable than trying to do something new late in the day.

They let everyone know when Wrestlemania was. They reminded you of the big matches and they put over how big the show would be. Job done.

Just on Cena, I really don't like his promos. They come across so cheesey and insincere to me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 89,029 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

How many times was Cena/Batista match hyped on about

The problem with Ted and Cody now is no one cares about them or their match tbh the writers left their turn on Orton way too late to happen

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,284 ✭✭✭Gerard.C

The build to Cena and Batista has been unbelieveable. Batista as a heel is brilliant, he is so hateable. The promo at the end of raw was immense

Am actually liking Batista as a heel, he bores me to tears as a face, but he's been on another level these past few weeks

It was the last Raw before Mania and its the match that will probably bring in the most buys, they were right to hype the hell out of it at any given opportunity. :)
