How do you know when you're ready to pass the test?

Since I've got my car, I've been driving quite often.
Just last friday I went all the way to Glendelough with a couple of mates (one of them has a full license so he was my accompanying passenger). Drove about 100 miles that day, ended up by mistake on the M50, didn't realise how that happened, I was on the N11 and then suddenly found myself on the M11 which then became the M50! (last time I was on the N11, there was no M11)...
But I got off at the next (sandyford exit) and back on legal roads!

Anyway, point is I have been driving much more now than I did when I didn't have a car. Back then I only used to drive once a week for an hour in my instructor's car. And so I'm getting more experienced and more confident on the roads now. I have had a couple of close calls. But I'm learning from my mistakes.

I was now wondering would it be a good idea for me to apply for the cancellation and get ready to do the test against whenever it comes or should I wait till I'm 100% sure I'm gonna pass my test. And so my question. How do you know when you're ready to pass the test?...

I say go for it. I don't think anyone would say that they are 100% ready for the test, no matter how good they are. By the sounds of it, you have a good idea of what you're doing and you've had a good bit of practice. What's the worst that could happen if you go for the test now?
    Best of luck:)

Personally, Id say ask your ADI.

Only he/she can give you a true reflection of the progress you are making. From your posts over the last few weeks you're certainly getting more practice which is a massive help to you.

However, whilst we might be able to give advice and our thoughts on most things on here it's less easy for us to give an opinion on this particular subject without actually seeing you drive.

    Best of luck
