Hi all I'm hoping I can get some advice on this in here apologies if theres already a thread on this somewhere else!

My car insurance is due for renewal at the start of next month and recently received a renewal quote from my current insurer of 490e. I decided out of curiosity to have a look around and see what else was out there and discovered 123.ie who quoted me 327e. both policies are fully comp with windscreen cover,24hr breakdown assist no claims bonus protection all the usuals. Rang my current insurer and they wont budge on their quote.

I guess what I'm weary about is that I've never heard of the insurance company that the policy is with traveler insurance. So I'm wondering has anybody any experiance with these or 123.ie itself. I'd be greatful for any advice on this.:)

I'm with 123.ie and as of yet they've been good, had some hastle with my car - resulted in having to use the recovery service twice - once close to home - once in another county, both times the recovery guy was out in 40 minutes no hastle on the phone. Ya I'd definitly go with them if they're cheaper.

Well 123.ie are a broker, so they are not the nes underwriting the policy.

Just make sure you don't have a direct debit set up that will pay your current insurer. It will be a job to get the money back once paid.

thanks for the quick replies. ive been with my current insurer hibernian through aib for years and just thought that they would have quoted me a bit less than that its pretty much the been the same rate the last 2, 3 years so tried a few others this year and 123.ie seem to be the cheapest even with going straight to the insurance companies and by passing the brokers.

With 123 too, travellers insurance company, never heard of them before that but they smashed the next closest quote (Quinn - with them over 7 years, full ncb etc) nearly in half,. Had all the extras included, windscreen, NCB protection etc.

My renewal is up by 50%, was 320 and now its 475. Tried them all, but the best today is 430, and 123 wasnt great for me. I'm nothing special, really!! I guess I'll keep on shopping....

I use insure.ie. Happy with them.

They send me out NC and renewal docs (for cheapest insurance quote fitting my requirements) at renewal time.
