Well if you are landing in Roscoff the obvious choice would be Brittany.

You may want to rent a gite or rent a couple of places and do a driving tour.

This site will give you a few ideas.

lots of places in Brittany but if your driving make sure you have an Irl. sticker, spare set of bulbs, high vis vest etc.... expensive penalties if you don't. go to the AA website for all info. also you will need headlight adjusting stickers. enjoy.

would recommend SIBLU holiday park at Domaine de Kerlann - it is beside the lovely village/town of Pont Aven - beach nearby etc - not far to drive...

my kids are 12 and 8 and loved it and we will be going back this year - drove there myself last year and no bother:)

Don't need this -as you have it on your number plate (well you should!).

    Thanks guys,
I've been doing some searches on all your advice,Snowdaze i checked out siblu's site and they look very good,i'm considering booking domain de kerlann or le bois dormont in vendee which is further south and may get better weather, only thing is its 5 hours drive, but according to reviews on trip advisor there seems to be more activities,
could anyone tell me is the drive to vendee worth it or would i better off in brittany?

camp sites are excellent in France.
Les Mouettes in carantec is one of our favourites and only 10 miles from roscoff

depends how much you love the heat and can it ever be guaranteed?

do you have much of a drive on this side? all factors to be taken into consideration...

personal choice I suppose....Domaine De Kerlann great to start with anyway - you could always brave it further the next time:)

I drove to Paris for the second week last year and I would NEVER do that again...too far, too hot for me and the kids said they would have preferred to stay in Brittany for the second week - had enough of Disneyland over the years!

Good luck with your plans...don't forget the bikes and all the gear!!!

I think you made the right choice. I know someone who has been to both Domaine De Kerlann and Le Bois Masson. They loved both parks but preferred Le Bois Masson.

    What they said was :
More to do at Le Bois Masson and more and better supermarkets in the locality.
Two miles from Le Bois Masson is St. Jean de Monts town, promenade and beach, very nice.
Pont Aven(been here twice myself) near Domaine De Kerlann is a very nice picturesque village, almost every shop here sells paintings. It's nice for an afternoon, but not any longer.

I booked the sister park across the road from Le Bois Masson, Le Bois Dormant. You can move freely between the two parks.

We're staying at Le Bois Masson too - at the end of August. I've heard nothing but good about the park, and 5 hours is as far as I want to drive. It's only an hour from Nantes which is a gorgeous city - we've been there twice before.

well folks its that time of the year again,

we had a great holiday last year at le bois masson in vendee,

the siblu park was great and the town of st jean de monts was beautiful,

we drove to a park called puy de fou but unfortunatly it was closed for maintenance for that particular day:rolleyes:,so on we went to poitiers to a theme park called futurescope, again it just was'nt our day as it rained all day and we had to leave early,
the weather in st jean de monts was for the most part warm and sunny, while down south they had terrible weather at that particular time,

we are travelling again this year but i am considering driving further south and maybe to charente maritime,i've been told la rochelle is very nice,
the drive last year was enjoyable as we stopped in rennes and nantes along the way,so the drive would'nt bother us,
i've also heard that its more expensive the further south you go,is this true?
and would anyone like to recommend a mobile home park or a town down that way,
the advice last year was very helpful and much appreciated,
