    Out of interest, is there a list of the various 'tour' medals which can be awarded by Irish service abroad? Do the Irish soldiers in Afghanistan earn either an Afghan Service medal or the NATO ISAF medal? (As KFOR was also a NATO mission, did the NATO medal get awarded for that one?)

    I know in Kosovo they got the nato medal. Would think its the same in ISAF, that the one with two white strips right rather than one for kfor in the later part of the mission. must look next goc parade

    I believe that NATO missions are classed under UN mandated missions. We are "partner participants".

    1992 - ICFY
    1997 - SFOR (Former Yugoslavia)
    1999 - KFOR
    1999 - INTERFET (East Timor)
    2002 - ISAF (Afghan Non-Article 5)

    They are all awarded the nato medal and whichever ribbon for the mission.

    Aside from those, there are the United Nations missions and the European Union ones,
    ECMM, EUMM, Artemis, Althea, Amis, RD Congo, tChad-RCA and Atlanta.
