Free Laptop to give away!!

I have a Samsung R60 plus laptop to give away! In very good condition but the laptop needs a replacement internal power connection socket which would require buying in a spare part and soldering job, then a replacement power adaptor cord also.

I basically need to get my data from the laptop hard drive then i can pass it over free of charge. It would be your responsibility to have the part fitted whilst i am around and i can then take the data off then give away.

I cannot give this away until the work is done on the laptop, so would hope that someone who maybe repairs and sells second hand laptops will be reading this.

Will not drop off and pick up at later date, need the whole job done at once to save time, and also avoid scamming (unless you are a pc or laptop repair shop who can be trusted)

    Cheers!

    :)

You'll be Lucky, that's never an easy job,
If you just remove the hard drive (pretty simple) and take it to any computer store they should be able to get your data off.. Somebody might be able to advise on what you need and how to do it yourself.

I can copy your data onto a DVD or external drive (yours) if you wish, then format the disk in front of you. I'm near Dun Laoghaire if that suits

Im trying to avoid paying anything here folks. In return you are getting a laptop that needs a small bit of work done on it.

Let me know if any of you can help. Ideally i would like to get everything off the laptop aswell as there is quite a lot of personal data on there!

    Cheers.

As I said a few posts earlier, I'd be happy to facilitate you. Where in Dublin are you based?

Sorry, didn't see that you don't have the power adapter which is frequently like 80 euro+. I'll bow out and leave this to someone else

i know im in limerick but i'd gladly pay the P&P, you can keep the hard drive and get one of these. put your hard drive in it, transfer all your stuff to another laptop or desktop and then format the hard drive, keep it in the enclosure as an external drive.

my better advice to you is that it shouldnt cost you more than €100 to get the internal adapter connection fixed, then buy a universal charger for €50.

thats exactly what i'd be doing, except i could fix the internal connector myself with the part probably only costing me €30.

€70 for a new 500GB hard drive, €20 for an extra 2GB RAM, so about €200 would give me a pretty spanky second hand laptop! ;)

Let me know if this still needs to be done / you need to move the drive to a different PC
