Anglo to announce €12 billion loss this week?

    I heard on the radio they were announcing this €12 billion loss for 2009 this coming week which makes BOI and AIB loss of €3 billion and €2 billion look like small change in comparison.

    Also there was rumour that the whole arresting seanie was to soften the public as to why they are forking over €12 billion of tax-payers money (3 times the cuts made in decembers budget) to bail out this bank.

    Any thoughts? Why exactly are we bailing out anglo again?

    If that is the case then very well played by those in charge with the arrests. As for why, well its because it is much easier to throw money at something and hope it fixes itself than have to do some work in reforming the practises of a failing system.

    a headline in todays indo seems to say that anglo has written off a 7.5m debt to its former chairman, is that in the figures.
