Transfering Raw files from laptop to Pc

    Hi guys,


    i took loads of pictures while on holidays and transferred them from my camera to my laptop.
    however i would wish to edit them on my pc as i have all my editing packages are there lightroom photomatix etc !

    what is the best way to transfer them from my laptop to my pc ?

    They are just files. Share whatever folder they are in on your laptop, mount it from your PC, and copy the files. (If you have broadband they are probably already on the same network to be able to do this.)

    Have you a memory stick available aka thumb drive or key drive (basically the thing that you stick in the usb port of your computer with a couple of gig of storage on it?)

    The raw files are simply computer files no different than a word document, an excel sheet, or a mp3 file so transferring them about the place is the same.

    Just copy them to your memory stick from your laptop and then copy them to your computer. It should be as simple as that.

    yeah is that the thing on the side of the laptop for a memory card ?

    How did you copy them to your laptop in the first place? Please tell me you didn't let some program do it for you.

    and.. are the pictures still in your camera?

    i uploaded them to the laptop using the camera software by canon,
    unfortunately the pictures are no longer on the camera !
