not sure if this is the right place to pos this but anyway......
been seeing a girl for a while all great but last week while doing the deed a condom broke, didn't realise till after and we were both a little freaked out, so she took a few normal contraception pills that evening, this is supposed to be the same as the morning after pill, however the thing is she is now 4-5 days later then expected as it usualy happens about a week after you take the pills.....if you know waht i mean.....
so i guess im jsu wondering does anyone have any experience of this as i am a bit worried, as she is...wouuld really appreciate anyones views here

    Hi OP.

I have never heard of taking several contraception pills at once being the equivalent to a Morning After Pill. The little booklet that comes with each brand of pill usually advises against taking more than one at a time unless you've forgotten one.

The only way to know if she's pregnant or not is to see a doctor or take a pregnancy test.

If anything like this happens again I would advise you guys to call a local clinic/GP and get the MAP. It is the best way to prevent a pregnancy after unprotected sex.

Get her to go the doctor and tell him/her about her taking several pills. This could also be why her period is late. Her body could be full of hormones and not besure what to do with them. The doctor will be able to advise her on what to do in the event of it happening again.

so she took a few normal contraception pills that evening, this is supposed to be the same as the morning after pill,

That's an old wives tale. Taking a few pills at once is both inadvisable and ineffective, if you wanted emergency contraception, the morning after pill or having an IUD fitted are the only recommended ways of going about taking such precautions unfortunately.

If she is late, the only way of finding out is by doing a test. Worry can delay a period arriving at the usual time so that could be a factor.

The MAP is equivilent to 6 months of the ordinary contraceptive pill, I believe. So I'm not sure taking a few ordinary pills would do anything. Is she on the contraceptive pill? If not, then I really doubt it was anything other than silly tbh.

She could quite likely be pregnant. The only way to know is to take a test. And perhaps read up on contraception options so that doesn't happen again.
