I like the Eley stuff. I find its a bit quieter than others, and is pretty damn accurate. Nice to see its available nearby for €6 a box ;). I've been paying €7.50!!
It performed pretty well in this review too-

    That's so depressing - €60 for 500 rounds.

I was at a store in the states (8 years ago) and saw a brick of 500 for $12.

    So depressing.frown.gif

According to Midway USA it is now $72. for 500 which is about the same as here.
ALL ammo has gone up majorly in the last few years and 8 years is a long time ago.
You can buy loose boxes of Federal 525 rds for €24 if all you want to do is plink.

the federal stuff isnt great, but ok for messing about with.

would it be any cheaper to buy a brick than individual boxes?

Not sure, I got one from the place in Bandon that is usually quite highly priced. But I reckoned €24 is OK for 525 rds.
They come loose, not packed in individual boxes, just one big box.

I bought a box of Federal high velocity in Mullingar, Lakelands Shooting Centre. 525 for €24. I ment to buy subs. I was impressed by these tho. I find them great for rabbits. If it wasn't for the noise I'd buy hv rounds again.

What my first post referred to was the fact that Eley Subsonic is in the top end of the market no matter what country you are in.
500 rounds of Eley subs will cost around the same in the US as here.
The stuff you showed above is ony marginally cheaper than the Federal available here @ 525 for €24

So really .22lr ammo prices aren't that much different.
Centrefire stuff OTOH is much cheaper in the US probably due to economys of scale.

100 cci 40 grain subs for 12 euro in clonmel. find them better than eley or winchester. i have an old krico s/a and it fires them all day long. no feed problems or misfires like the eley. guess its what suits your rifle.
