George Hamilton - Expenses

Does anyone know George Hamilton's yearly expenses and indeed his salary??

Every time there is a sporting occasion abroad, he seems to be there.

Does he fly first class?? I am sure he doesn't stay in the Travel Lodge?

How can a man who is so inept at his job manage to live such a high life? For example he was in Paris last night for the rugby. The man cannot understand the game but yet he gets a trip over AGAIN. He is such a poor commentator.

I am sure he didn't stay in a budget hotel or eat in an average restaurant. I wonder how big his RTE credit card bill is annually?

From here. All I can find is relating to his salary.
George Hamilton, who did not appear on the list in 2007, was last year's ninth highest RTÉ earner at €219,833

Thanks. Good wages. No sign of the expenses there though. Probably not published

have you tried requesting the information under FOI (Freedom Of Information) http://www.foi.gov.ie/

Might cost you a few quid though. Also, if the information is commercially sensitive (which top presenters/comentators/newsreaders wages generally are) you may not be allowed to view the most recent information.

Inept in your opinion. Would you stary in a Travel Lodge if your job had you travelling all the time? I know I wouldn't so why would he?

    This thread smacks of bitterness.

He's pretty much the only one we got left since Jim Beglin went to ITV.

I'm bitter about it as well, wondering how someone with so little talent makes so much money. It's embarrassing listening to him commentate on anything, even moreso when it's not football.

Isn't he doing School's Rugby on Setanta now?

I've listened to him for the last 20 years or more, and have found him to be competent. It's only when you listen to TV3s commentary / panel, that you realise that Rte's coverage is generally good. I think he is good at being objective also. He's an Arsenal fan, and I have no idea how he commentated on the CL Semi final second leg last year.

If you're looking for people who are hugely over paid in RTE, I would start with Finucane, Ryan and Tubridy. Dont think there's any real story with Hamilton.

George is great. Deserves his money unlike some of the other high paid jokers.

He gets expenses? Thought all his commentary was from a studio in Donnybrook considering its allways delayed!!:D

He is great for the international matchs but a big turn off for Champions League games imo.
