Off the cuff - Recommend me a 5.1/6.1 surround amplifier (no speakers)

    Hi all,
I am 'upscaling' to a (Philips) BluRay player from my existing (Panasonic) DVD player. The DVD has a built-in 5.1 amp with speakers (SC-HT540) but no digital in for external audio from the BluRay, so I want an amp tp power the BluRay audio whilst keeping my already-attached-to-the-wall speakers (3 and 6 ohms array). I was hoping to make an impulse purchase later today.

    Thanks in advance,

    Seanie.

Sounds like a job for the lads at richersounds they can sort ya out with something within your budget. Maybe something along the lines of a Onkyo 607 or a Denon1910
There are of course cheaper options like a Onkyo 307
    Hope this helps ya.:)

I have the Denon AVR1906 and it's a great amp for the money. The Denon AVR1910 should be even better with the features it has. It all depends on how much you have to spend.
