    Hey,

Can anyone recommend any good Asian Tartan Extreme films? More to the horror/thriller side (not so much the action). One of my fave films is Battle Royale so i'm sure there are other gems to be found.

    Thanks

Off the top of my head I would say:

    The Ring
    Audition
    Battle Royale
    A Tale of Two Sisters
    Ichi the Killer
    Old Boy
    Lady Vengeance
    Joint Security Area

Why limit yourself to tartan extreme? Have a look through the Korean films thread and you'll find heaps of recommendations...

If sticking with Tartan, I'd add Sympathy for Mr Vengeance (since you have the other two in the trilogy, and I'm always a bit awkward and think SFMV is the best!), Dead or Alive (mental, OTT Takeshii Miike film) and Save the Green Planet (absolutely loopers film, and a long time boards favourite) to your list. Audition in particular would be a favourite of mine. There is quite a bit of generic nonsense in the range, but definitely a good few highlights, largely stuff by Takeshii Miike (Visitor Q is also great, but probably best to get a little more acquainted with his stuff because it is genuinely as offensive as cinema comes) and Chan Wook Park.
