    Hi

Basically...I'm running my iphone 3g on vodafone...and have been since last may basically.

However, I got one of those free three sim cards recently and thought i'd try it out. (they come with five euro credit on them)

When i try loading most web-pages, it just ends up timing out. Except for the three.ie site. That seems to be loading fine.
Also when I try accessing m.bebo.com, it logged me out...then redirected to the signin page. I enter username/pass...click "login"...nothing...I sometimes get an error message "safari could not download the file bebo.com/m/home".
Yahoo mobile mail's front page appears to load...however it won't go any further.

Anything else throws up a blank.

I tried setting the APN as detailed in the settings thread on boards.ie, however this doesn't result in any difference.

Am i missing something or is there a problem somewhere?

    Cheers

I've heard that the internet via 3 is pretty awful. I'm with O2 and the internet speed on my phone is faster than a few pcs I've tried. However it all depends on the signal you're getting. Obviously five full bars on 3G or wifi will do the trick. Anything less than that will degrade access to the web and cause pages to time out.

What exactly do you mean you "tried" setting the APN? You pretty much "have" to set the APN. In addition did you opt for and buy a 3 Internet add-on?

Are any of ye finding the iphone seems to default onto vodafone, I nearly always have to go into setting, do a network search, manually select vodafone then select 3 again before da'interent starts working. It's as if my iphone thinks voda(3) is the home network not 3G(3)
