Because it has cheaper call and text rates?

You can just add a broadband bundle on 3, the rest of them pretend there's a difderence between broadband and voice sims.

Mobile broadband and 3G mobile services are the same thing.

They just milk you for on handset data because they can.

Technically, they could offer their mobile bb packages to any phone user.

a lot of the time the mobile broadband sims are not provisioned for voice calls, just for data. so yes there is a difference a lot of the time, purposely done by the networks disabling this. you would have to check.

For heavy duty phone surfing on the phone I would get an unlockrd mifi and carry it in your pocket within range of your phone

Now, that's an interesting option, if not going a bit too far!

It would allow people on, say Meteor, to buy a Vodofone mobile broadband SIM to put in the MiFi.

For people who didn't know what it was, including myself: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MiFi

Yes it will work, but for VF anyway the data sims all have a preset tariff for sms and calls which is far higher than what you'd pay on an actually "voice" sim.

Ya, so you'd get a Vodafone SIM for the MiFi for data only, and use your normal Meteor SIM in your phone to make all the calls. So the voice costs on the Vodafone shouldn't be an issue.

for somone who mainly uses internet ans seldom calls and texts would the mobile broadband sim be the best option
