Was browsing the Russian / Soviet impressions thread, and thought it maybe a good idea to have one for PMC impressions? Want to put one together myself, and wondered if anyone had any ideas / hints / tips / advice.

Common wisdom is of course to just wear anything that's comfortable and gets the job done, but I thought it would be nice to have a chat about it! So... anyone?

You really can't go wrong with a PMC loadout. Heck i've seen pictures of PMC's wearing jeans (not very practical). Some sort of chest rig or plate carrier and pair of OD combats. Thats what i wear and some generic t-shirt. I also carry an AK 74 which isnt very true to life, but i like it. A normal ak 47 with maybe a tactical rail set would be good, or just an M4. :)

    Try this link

    http://www.geardo.co.uk/stuff/pmc/

    or

    http://www.airsoftforum.com/board/lofiversion/index.php/

You have to have a good root though the second one, but both are a mine of imformation on the topic

good links, i've been thought that collection of pictures before, i would be a good idea for those that have not to give a graphic content warning as some of the pictures in the gallery are not for everyone

couple more places for people to look if there interested

Really, never noticed anything like that.... My bad!

Ok, folks descretion is advised for some of the galleries contained in the links I supplied.

Still, two great sites for info on how to get it right or  wrong!

agree there a great resource but burnt, blown up and shot up bodies are not for everyone ;)

Some great reference pics there Puding, would be going for the more realistic, basic PMC look you describe.

With regards to weapons, I suppose anything will do.... personally I'm after an AKM (Cyma AKM to be precise). However, I see a lot of the guys in the pics have the AIMS type folding stock AKs. Seem to be quite common among the PMC community

the aims is common item issued and easly avalaible and has advantages over the akm and akms, one of the big ones i found is the folding stock far superior to the akms

Hmmm.... would it be possible to buy that particular stock aftermarket and fit it to an AKM (or vice versa)? Do they have the same stock trunnion?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,261 ✭✭✭Puding

you can get an aims stock to fit a akm receiver but its a far amount of work it will not fit the akms receiver, but if your looking to do this you might as well by the excellent cyma aims right off the bat

Meh.... not too pushed about the folder. May well grab an AIMS forward grip and fit it to the AKM though, best of both worlds there.

Now, any idea where to get the railed gas tube for the AK?
