    Hi,
I bought a new Octavia with ESP as an extra. Got it today and there is no ESP button to turn it on and off. It just has the same as the standard traction control button. Sale guy said that the TC button control both. The main brochure shows pics of an ESP button. An add-on to the brochure (correction sheet) says that ESP cannot be turned off. All confused! Is there any way of proving that ESP is actually in the car (other than trying to crash it :))
    Thanks

If there was a correction saying that the ESP cant be turned of then there shouldnt be a button. How to tell if you have it or not. . . If you emailed the main Skoda thingy in Ireland and gave an engine code, would they be able to tell you for sure?

Try holding down the tc button for about 5 to 10 seconds although if it says it cant be turned off, this may not work.
Most new audis have a 2 stage setup. Hit the button once & tc is off to a limited degree, hold it down & it shuts off completely.
I would suggest driving to a quite car park on the next wet day & let the front of the car slide wide as if understeering on a bend.
Do this with the tc switched off via the button you have. If the car still kills the power etc, well you could assume that you have the additional system

Thanks for the replies guys. Turning it off isn't a concern to me. Don't think its something I'd ever want to do. Its just that from the brochure I was expecting the button the have ESP written on it. Its have to spend the money and not "see" anything for it. Obviously its when I need it i'll know for sure.

Update: After some googling, I have found some other people asking similar in other forums. It seems that Skoda removed the ESPO off swithc in Nov 2009 and replaced it with the TCS off switch where TC could be turned off but ESP could not. As this removes my doubt on that I will assume it has ESP.
