Am I the only one sick of so called marketing experts and consultants? It seems to me they turn up, tell you how great they are, ask you for your ideas. Then proceed to tell you how to turn those same ideas into ones that will cost five times as much. Which is fortunate for them, I mean you, as they can help you find funding for those projects that were relatively cheep but now cost a small fortune.

Where do they come from? And what make them qualified to be marketing experts or consultants?

Erm .. check their results with existing companies ...

Like everything there are chancers and there are "experts" ... find out who they are working with / have worked for .. and ring them

I think any 'expert' needs to show some proof of their so called expertise before shouting about everything they do. I do agree that a lot of Marketing 'Experts' do need to take a look at your budget and actually take that into account when coming up with all of their brilliant ideas - I mean do they not think that we would of thought of a lot of the things they have thought about already and would have invested in if we had thought it would be cost-effective for our business?

Chancers are a problem alright, but you just added to that and now you're trying to bring down a whole world of people with you by slagging marketers in general.

That's the thing though, a lot of people wouldn't. I mean the term "we" includes an awful lot of stupid, clueless people. No disrespect intended but it really does. And I'm not talking about people with low leaving cert results or average qualifications, because people who get 700 points in the leaving can be pretty thick too.

I mean who needs marketing anyway in the debt business????

By the way, I think your website is a disgrace. It has way too much text, not enough calls to action and looks about as boring as the debt business in general. I thought you were one of the ones who "got" marketing? You don't need a budget to make a site as boring as that look semi-respectable.
