For deer stalking, often meaning long walks in rough terrain one needs a pair of light binos. The magnification should not be high and the field of view large. Coatings should be tuned for dusk using.
For me that means magnification either 7x42, 8x42, 7x50.
At the moment the best value for money if one can't afford swarovski or zeiss is Meopta, but still in the 700 Euro range.
In the 300-500 Euro range I think Minox and maybe Steiner are ok.

After looking through most bino brands at the IWA last week I bought a set of American/Jap Vortex/Razor 8x42 binos. They seem quite good even when comparing them with Zeiss 8x56 bgat and Swaro7x50 slc's.

The lowest usefull in my opinion are the minox at just under 300 Euro.

a good set of 7x40 or 8 x40or50 is what ya need for stalking...Just remember..ya get what ya pay for with bins..Good clarity and brightness is the key..otherwise your at nothing.....
I had a loan of these vortex razors in 8x42 when I was in Scotland shooting some roe a few years back and thought they were very good for the price.
Im now using these meopta in 8x42 and cant fault them for the price...
Then of course you can fork out a grand and some and go for the (elite)
    Swaro`s or zeiss,leica......

I used these for last year. They do the job but at a price.

Not water proof so get fogged up if raining.
Not as good as dwighet's by a long way.

BUT they will get you going and cheaply till you can afford better.

Hey, i have a pair of Steiner Ranger Pros 8x42. Very clear and sharp to look through and cost around 480 to 500 euros. They are nitrogen filled so fogproof, waterproof and are rubber armoured. Very sturdy. Use them for deer stalking in all weather. Great buy if you ask me!!!
