    hey ppl
    need some help re sky!
joined up last april but have just moved house.got quoted 70euro for re-installation yet when i rang up 2day another man from my local sky ireland said 100euro and wouldnt budge.so after arguing down the phone for what seemed like forever he still wouldnt budge so i just called quits and hung up.i can afford to stay with sky and pay the 100 but ur man was just so downright ignorant i really dont want to be a customer of their's anymore and then i remebered....someone told me before that once my contract of a year is up i can cancel my subscription and by doing so i get free to air channels from the sky box itself.is this true?? if so the only thing is i left my dish in the old house i was in and cant really be bothered travelling half way across the country to get it back so this is what i was thinking....
should i??? ring up sky, bite the bullet and get them to re-install a new dish for me,finish off the last 3 weeks of my contract and then ring them up to cancel my subs? this way i'll have the dish to get free to air!!! please someone help and advise me what to do im a pure dope when it comes to all this kinda thing.thanks,a pissssed off sky customer

Ya, you may go ahead and do that, €100 for a dish and installation sounds about right, I doubt very much if you'd get it done cheaper anywhere. I'd say the €70 price you were quoted was if you had all the equipment there for the installer but as you said you have no dish so i'd guess thats where the extra €30 came from.
You must give Sky 30 days notice if you cancel and yes once the 12 month contract is up you own the equipment and are free to do what you like with it.
