Recent Convert to Contacts

I've recently got contacts from my optician and am surprised how quick I've got used to them, but there's one thing I'm not sure about.
My prescription shows that my left eye is +.75 and my right eye +2.75. However my contacts which are multifocal, are: L: +1.00 & R: +2.50. So my left is .25 stronger and my right is .25 weaker.
My optician says that the prescription for glasses is different to that for contacts, but was just wondering if anyone else has come across this.
As I said I've no real difficulty with the contacts, but my distance and reading vision is definitely not as good as it is with my varifocal glasses.

Your varifocal glasses will always be better than contact lenses.

Yes that's what my optician said, but I was just wondering if it's normal for your contact lense prescription to be different to your glasses.

Don't know if it's true for everyone but it is normal to have different prescriptions for glasses and contacts.

hi as far as i know your contact lens presciption will always be different because of the distance between your eyes and glasses is different between your eyes and your contact lenses...i could be wrong so dont quote me:)

Especially as theyre multifocals- there could be some accomodation to allow for the different areas.
Thats like people who need reading glasses, they only wear 1 lense in their eye.

The prescription in my glasses was 2 points stronger than my lenses. They are generally different prescriptions. :-)

They're always differnet because one is closer to your eyes than the other.

    Perfectly normal
