Is there such a thing as a Punchestown Preview Night?
I realise that Cheltenham is "the big one", but the Punchestown is our "big one".

Kildare is the heart of Irish racing whereas Gloucester is the heart of the British Conservative Party.

I read that Ted Walsh described backing/tipping Somersby as being "unpatriotic" but surely being a Paddywhacker for Cheltenham but ignoring Punchestown, as the Irish public do, is more "unpatriotic". Note, I'm not criticising Ted Walsh here, just those that love Cheltenham and not Punchestown.

However, I do accept that Punchestown Festival is too long, too late a start, has smaller fields and lacks the calibre of horses.
