I switched to these guys last year and they are dead on. So much easier to deal with than the local council and NEVER fail to turn up, they are 20% cheaper than council rates and u can pay via direct debit which is so much handier. They are currently running a promo where you can get 1 months free collections PM me for the reference number (I will also get 1 month free for anyone who signs up so win win)

    heres the link http://www.citybin.com/Choose_Location.asp?cid=10

NB they only service Galway & Dublin 15/16/24 & Lucan

Highly recommend Citybin - agree with above poster 100%.

Got rid of South Dublin County Council shower of wasters about 18 months ago and haven’t looked back. Was so sick of SDCC not turning up, not emptying bin fully, leaving my bin half way down the road etc etc etc - I could go on.

Citybin send a text message the night before to remind you and they will leave the bin where you left it and its miles cheaper – now that’s service.

BTW, don’t work for them or have any association with them apart from being a happy customer :)

    100% agreed.

I'm with them since they started in Lucan a few years ago and they haven't missed a single collection. If your bin collection day is on a public holiday, they collect on a public holiday and not maybe the Saturday before or the Saturday after whatever they feel like (SDCC)

My collection day is Wednesday. So they collected my bin on Paddys day. I was at home and I spotted them collecting my bin and my neighbours one. They wore uniforms. My neighbours bin seemed fairly compressed so they had to make the lorry shake the bejaysis out of it to empty it. When the bin was down, your man opened the lid for a visual inspection to check if the bin was indeed completely empty. A tiny bit of paper got caught in the wind. Your man picked it up and threw it into the lorry. The bins were placed back exactly where they were left out.

SMS the night before collection. Pay by DD. Invoice via email. Overview by email of the number of collections and the weights of the lifts (recycling, green and general waste bins). This crowd is as professional and technically advanced as they could possibly be.

Wow, if the last post hadn't been a mod, I would have assumed this was a shillorama. Sounds like a really good service. Hope they expand to other areas.

Damn I just switched to these and got my new bins yesterday - could have used that code .

Agree with everybody, I think Citybin were more expensive in the beginning as I remember their Rep calling to us but on checking prices it wasn't in our best interests to change pricewise. Even their switching pack makes everything so simple to the final details of providing a stamped addressed envelope to SDCC requesting them to take back the old bins.

Finally had enough of SDCC jobsworths not showing up, leaving bins at the end of the road and the last straw was not once being informed that the bin tag system was being done away with and we left our bin out 3 weeks running which they just ignored instead of informing us about the change (had to go on to their website to find out about the new system), I've 3 bin tags going to waste but I couldn't care less I refuse to put up with their shoddy service any further.

I'm leaving my new Citybin Co bins in a high profile spot hoping all my neighbours change as I don't want them to go out of business for fear of having to return to SDCC

SDCC will refund you the price of these if you return them. Just ring the office to get more details.

Hate to lock this up but our Charter does say:
Bargain Alerts is NOT the place for any commercial interaction or advertising, whether you've a small or large company.

If you wish to advertise on Boards.ie, see details here. And if you wish to interact with consumers on Boards.ie, you can contact one of our Community Managers and ask for details about a 'Commercial Interaction' forum.

But please do not use Bargain Alerts as a medium.

Have re-opened it now as long as any commercial interaction from kosmo is kept to a minimum!

I too missed out on the free first month offer at the time. They gave the free month to me anyway.

Wanted to change my payment method with them today, so I had to look at my last invoice (emailed) to find my account number. I hadn't noticed it before but I did now. I was not surprised that they had been awarded: "Winner: 2009 & 2010 Deloitte 'Best Managed Companies'"

BTW when I made the call (freephone) today, I got through to a friendly and professional operator within 10 seconds (no computer voices, no menus, no waiting lists, etc.) and I changed my payment method within 2 minutes.

For the record: I have no affiliation with the city bin company whatsoever. I am just a satisfied customer.
