What's your favourite song about a particular "unknown" character in the rock world, does the song perhaps describe someone you know, or does the song define an ex or current partner....

What's that song that reminds you of them, particular if the song itself is about a fictional man or woman?

Guns N Roses - My Michelle

Probably a bit too obvious to post a certain track off Tomb of The Mutilated so I will go with - Derek + The Dominos - Layla

I think some of my favourites would be 'A Man I'll Never Be' by Boston, Elizabeth Bathory by Tormentor/Dissection, 'Be My Druidess' by Type O Negative and 'Don't Believe Her' by The Scorpions.

Type O Negative was the first name into my head when I saw the thread title, but I had two different songs in mind.

Bob Seger/ Metallica - Turn the Page.

I like the idea the lonesome, reflective rocker telling his story of the tour and how it feels being on stage. Makes me want to be in a band :o

I can always picture the long American highways and truck stop diners when I hear it.

Cool too, that Metallica took it to be about a stripper in their music video. Maybe nsfw

    Call me old-fashioned, but:

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

threethat come to mind... there are many many others.

For reasons other than the song lyrics (more of an occasion that it was played)

That Dissection cover is a real classic. Have you ever heard the original by Tormentor? It's actually great. Woodwoman by Bathory is also really great.:D

yeah Love Tormentor's orginal Song, such a classic, Only got into them after hearing the Dissection cover a few years back!!! I think Blood On Ice is an unreal album, although alot of bathory fans didnt get into it. But I would put it up there with Twlight of the Gods!! Hail Bathory:D
