Apologies if this has already been posted but interesting news

Missing a "70.30" or a "half" from the title :)

locteau is organising an ultra triathlon in Connemara this year if anyone is interested, keeping it low profile enough though, you might not get thousands of people cheering you on ;)

I'd say they paid well for the Ironman brand, best of luck to them, its a massive undertaking but Galway is a great location for it (not biased at all!!:D)

I know you pay extra for an Mdot even but its worth it, last thing you want is something like the shambles that was the eireman !!

I didn't race the eireman, but i don't think it was a shambles, just had really bad weather.

I can't find anything about it on the IM website, is this definitely true?

Press release about the new 70.30

But its not the Galway one. Rumour has it that WTC have not green lighted it and there are a number of people going for a WTC franchise and this crowd tried to get a jump on the others. Just a rumour mind.

It's all good if true, hopefully the 70.3 is a success and grows to be a full mdot:D
