Question about C4

I just unlocked C4 last night and used it for a couple of games and got no kills with it at all. I dont really see its advantages unless you plant it and watch and wait for the right moment to detonate it -which seems like a waste of time tbh.
I'd rather just stick to using claymores or semtex instead. So I'm just wondering does anybody here actually use it in one of their classes? And if so, do you have any success with it?

i unlocked it a while ago aswell and never found much use for it.
you could put it onto a vechicle and wait til someone comes close ?

Not sure about everyone else but I'd say you would get most use from C4 in Search and Destroy. Just hide it somewhere close to the bomb sites and if you don't die before the enemy plant then use it when you hear that the bomb has been planted.

Or you could toss it over walls to make sure there is no one on the other side. I like using it sometimes to make sure there is no one around the corner.

Its more of a search and destroy (or similar gametype) weapon than say a team-deathmatch weapon. You use it as a trap. Say around the bomb site, or on a wall in an area you know enemies will pass through.

Where it can be handy on TDM is under a car. And when you're shooting an enemy and he goes behind it to take cover

Ah so thats where I'm going wrong!! I only play TDM and maybe FFA once in a while......I should really branch out and try the other game modes

Yeah, demolition too. Stick it inbetween the gaps on the target.

I tend to put C4 on a class with ninja and a silenced SMG in TDM, if you're working close enough to hear enemy footsteps you can get multikills when the other team do start coming at you. Or on places like the sniper room with the very broken wall on Skidrow, going through the laundrette and throwing through the 1st floor hole with a quick detonation can be a very good first volley in a sweep.

Also, what C4 lacks in the distance you can throw it, it really benefits when thrown from a height. If you're on the roof at the downhill end of favela playing domination you can throw and instantly detonate C4 onto anyone capturing the flag on the ground level.

It's class for SnD, plant at B, run to A etc. And putting it on ceilings and walls mean that opponents really need bomb squad to easily spot it.

Also, it's got quite a good blast radius, I've messed up throwing it through windows before, falling short and sticking just under the ledge. I find in that case it's best to just fire off a few shots to try get enemy attention, if they move to the window and you detonate, the blast can still get them.

I found it a gem for Domination on Favela. If you start the game on top of that sloped road while using lightweight and marathon you can easily run nearby to A or B (can't remember exactly, but its the one that is slightly left to where you're facing when you spawn for the 1st time.)

All the opposing team will usually run to A/B to capture it quickly, but if you have C4 on you can throw down while they capturing it and get yourself a good few kills.

I have got 7 kills with one C4 before, try it!

Also fyi- Plant your C4, take out your normal weapon of choice, you can double tap reload at any time to detonate the C4. You dont have to have the trigger out the whole time.

Saw that Favela trick a couple of times too, fairly nifty. Once saw a guy get a quad with a claymore doing the samething (jumped over the edge and planted it.... BOOOMMM!)

Exactly. I tend to use it on on SnD as well quite a bit with Scvanger.

Yeah, as said, it's close to useless on TDM.

Some tips for it are:

On mission gametypes, plant leave a flag and the trigger it when you hear a flag (etc) is being taken.
On Favela, it's possible in Domination to run from the A spawn, down the overgrown path and up the steps at the bottom to the building roof, chuck down the C4 on the C flag and detonate immediately. You can get sweet multi-kills this way. If you start from C spawn, you can get to the B flag from rooftops and try the same, but it's rare you'll get as many.

If you use OMA, it is possible to setup big blast zones using a C4 and Claymore combo. Again, this is useful mostly for mission gametypes. Leave the C4 near the Claymore and when that's triggered the blast will setoff the C4 too.

Yes , double tap x is quicker then changing over.

C4 is best for laying traps in objective based games. I love putting it beside the flag and waiting for someone to try and get it.

Always use it with Danger close as you get a way bigger blast radius & more damage to your enemies.

Ive got so many kills over the last week by doing this. Especially the A flag in Estate. Love finding these little ways of getting an extra kill :pac:
