hi lads, i took a short video of me shooting milk cartons at 100m 200m & 300m. the cartons expolde on impact which i think shows the rapid expansion of the ballistic tip round, i will do another one when i get some hollow points and compair the results. :D

Nice shooting, but i'd rather hear the shot than the music.

yes i would agree but the wind noise was loud, it was my first time doing it the next time i will make privisions to deal with the wind noise and then i'll leave it with just the natural shooting sound.

it was a crisp crack from the round and a deep thud from the impact.

Details please of your set up and ammo.

Did you add the 1 1/2 MOA for the 200m shot and then add another 4MOA on top of the 1 1/2 MOA to give you a total of 5 1/5 MOA from your 100m zero for the 300m shot.

Just thinking out loud here as that is near enough what I have to do for my CZ 223.

Cool to see people making videos like this

I'd get the cameraman a tri-pod though as shaky cam takes away from your video :D

Oh and use apples or oranges the next time :)

Nice video. Reactive targets are a great way to keep the eye in. I like clay pigeons myself, lovely and satisfying. :)

Hey, you joke now, but if I start planning a driven boar shoot, I'll be practising on bolting rabbit clays with a .22 and then a .300 win mag. :p

I hate the bolting rabbit with a shotgun, give it too much lead but not enough lead ha ha, cant imagine it with a rifle

Same as yours, .223 with 20 inch barrel, PES mod, harris bipod, Schmidt & Bender 3-12x50 LP2 and Warne mounts:D

Any issues with the stock, people say they're a bit flimsy?

no issue with stock at all in fact its a fine stock good and sturdy.
mine goes everywhere with me and i'v never had a problem, i dont know
where that rumer came from but its a load of bull.

Schmidt & Bender and tikka a deadly combination, there wont be a safe fox in your neck of the woods with that rig.

you are more than welcome to come up and try out my tikka some time, i'm always looking for a shooting buddy to hold the lamp;)

Cheers for the offer man, hopefully I'll be looking for a lamping companion in a few months aswell:D

Read on a few forums now that the stock can be a bit flexible especially shooting prone with a bipod:confused:

Anyway, back to the waiting game:rolleyes:

    Regards Murph

    I've a remmy 26 inch barrell
    55grn MOLY hornady 200yrd zero, 1 click 1/4 inch @100yards Nightforce NXS NPR 2 Ret. 8-32x56

    Trajectory (inches)
    MUZZLE 100 200 300 400 500
    -1.50 1.40 0.00 -7.00 -21.40 -45.90

Aim bang on more or less to 200 use next cross hair 300-4 etc The below I am going to try and compare accuracy with Nikon Range finder Sunday

What makes the Nightforce NP-R2 reticle truly unique. The vertical line of the NP-R2 reticle is divided into 2 M.O.A. increments (approx. 2 inches at 100 yards). These vertical increments are used for range estimation, multiple zero points and accurate bullet drop compensation. Any size target can be easily ranged using a simple formula: (target size in inches ÷ M.O.A. x 100 = range in yards). Once range is determined select an appropriate hold point based on the bullet drop of your cartridge. The vertical spacings can easily be split into 1 M.O.A. increments further enhancing long-range accuracy. The horizontal line is divided into equal 5 M.O.A. increments for windage compensation
