Excel summing problem

    Hi All
    I have a problem with Excel 2007.
I have a range of numbers, which are the results of linking to another worksheet.
I am trying to sum these numbers, but the usual "=SUM(Q6:Q124)" is just returning a big fat zero.
    Any thoughts?

    Cheers

    HB

Any chances the numbers sum to a figure less than .5 and that the answer cell is set to round to the nearest whole number?

Are you sure you are referencing financial values? They may be text values being displayed as numbers.

Alternatively one of the values being summed may be #NA or #DIV/0

You will need to review your data being summed for errors or invalid data

Try typing in some of the values and see do they total - if they do it's either the reference or the data is seen as text rather than numbers.

It could be that automatic calculation is turned off, in 2003 it's in options>> Calculations.
Try pressing f9 to manually recalculate and see if that's the problem.
Normally if there is a N/A or Div0 in part of the range the sum will show the same error.

And check that you have the right range selected, double click the cell and check that the box is around the correct cells.
