Dublin Bus Route 37/37X Terminus & Timetable Changes from Sunday March 21st

Bearing in mind posts before on this site complaining that Dublin Bus services on certain routes were going early when in fact the timetable had changed and they were operating correctly, I am highlighting this change here!

From Sunday March 21st the 37 and 37X terminus is being moved from Riverwood roundabout to extend along Diswellstown Road to terminate at the roundabout at the junction of the New Ongar Road and Blanchardstown Road South. The move is for health and safety reasons following a tragic accident at the current terminus a while back.

Unfortunately the buses cannot operate to the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre as the DoT refused Dublin Bus permission as it would apparently be unfair competition against UrBus, a service that goes nowhere near Carpenterstown.

Anyway, make note if you are a 37 user - the timetable is changing and there is some reduction in service frequency. However, it has to be said that a good solid clockface timetable is being implemented which is to be welcomed.

    New timetables are at:

Begging your pardon, but the move is not related to that tragic accident, but a compromise after the Department of Transport (all hail) refused permission to Dublin Bus to fully extend the route into Blanchardstown Shopping Centre.

The accident happened after the extension to Blanchardstown Road was agreed upon. Also, the accident did not happen at the present terminus, it was two stops back outside Luttrellstown Estate.

Apologies, but I had heard that drivers were concerned that the existing terminus be moved.

Yes, indeed they were. Although the move had been agreed upon before the accident, it took on a renewed urgency since then.

This is a great terminus for me,

Right beside where I live on the Clonsilla Road.
It'll be a shorter walk to the 37 than to the Train, or even the 39!

It'll be interesting to see how long it'll take in the mornings.. Can't be any worse than the 39/A/B's getting caught out at the M50 interchange.

The sooner they get that bloody interchange done the better!

Fantastic service all the same. Bus to the airport at 4am. Wish we had that!

Indeed it is - but really for DoT to use it as an excuse not to bring the 37 to the shopping centre just highlights how out of touch these guys are with reality.
