Mother jailed for killing six babies

It's a crazy world, as Christy Dignam might have said. Over on The Irish Times this morning this story from France - not the United States - appears:

The six babies were born between 2000 and 2007 and the woman's former partner found their tiny bodies wrapped in plastic bags in the basement of their apartment building. Hard to fathom how one lives with that.

Or was it just a case of people thinking she was a tad overweight the whole time?

I read this earlier and thought along the same lines as above. Surely she must have been pregnant for quite a large portion of the 7 years? The article I read said her ex who was the father of 6 of them was "not unaware" of her pregnancies but surely someone else noticed too?

Or abortion (though it's hard to know which is worse).

Lesage was arrested in 2007 after her partner at the time, Luc Margueritte, discovered the tiny bodies in plastic binbags in the basement of their apartment building in Valognes.

I don't know if this is relevant in this case but I know my mother (who was and is quite a thin woman) never showed much in her pregnancies until quite late into them so maybe thats how this woman got away with it?!

True. Nobody ever knew I was pregnant until I was about 7 months gone, I'm tall so babies had plenty of room to fit in!

Yeah true enough...if the father had been the one taking the babies and killing them...he sure as hell would have got longer sentence or death penalty(in countries that would have it).

Typical, the Mothers always get it easier.
That poor son of hers. He sure as hell needs psychiatric help himself after all this! Plus her last boyfriend..he was the father of the last baby. His child was murdered, poor man having to deal with that.
