Hi, Would like to take Stena to Holyhead this Easter for family holiday of 2 adults three children - first Stena trip! Can anyone recommend a really nice coastal hotel / self catering apartment in grounds of a hotel - max 1 hour away from holyhead? I like 4 or 5 star but finding it very hard to find interconnecting rooms or two room accomadation. Somehow hotels everywhere think by saying they are family friendly it's OK to stick you all in one room and once you just have two children too!! Thanks in advance!:)

Llandudno is about half an hour away (maybe less) and I found one hotel with "family rooms" called the Grand Ash. Don't know if it's suitable, it's a two star, about €115 for the room incl. brekkie.

Failing that there's a four star called the Montclare and Cumberland and you may get adjoining rooms. Standard twin and double rooms rooms are €83 each, again including brekkie, and I'm sure they can put a foldaway into the kids room for you.

I use booking.com for searches and booking usually. You can book with them and pay on arrival and I find them extremely helpful if you have a query such as looking for adjoining rooms, so give them a call and they should be able to assist.

If you are flexible about what part of Wales you visit, then Rosslare Fishguard ferry takes you to within a very short journey to Blue Stone. The blue lagoon water park which is part of the resort is fantastic. The lodges are very well kitted out and the whole place is very family friendly.
