New HD Box Strange Issue

    Hi All
    Got my new HD box this week and its very impressive except every now and then I have to reboot the box because when I try to go into any interactive services such as BBC Text or Sky News active the box looks as if it is going into the service but then exits straight away. A reboot fixes this for a while. Just wondering if anyone else experiences the same

    From what I have read elsewhere, this is a software bug with some sky hd systems. To test this, remove the HDMI cable and see if this eliminates the issue (I know if defeats the purpose of getting HD but try it anyway). If the red button works with the HDMI lead disconnected, then you are suffering from this bug. If this is the case, there's not much you can do apart from wait for an over the air software update from sky.

    If you try this and it doesnt make a difference, then I would ring SKY and have the box changed

    Yes, via Scart (or RF), but not via HDMI - teletext signals aren't carried over the HDMI cable.

    tried by scart, saying no teletext tansmission, any ideas? thanks

    have you changed the settings on the sky box to output via scart and not hdmi?
