How to stop newts?

    Hoping someone might be able to help,i just moved into a house near a lake,there are newts coming under the kitchen door every night.i saw six yesterday,don't want to kill them,any ideas on how to deter?

    That must be some gap under your kitchen door if they can get in .. I'd suggest making sure that's blocked first, if only to stop the draughts and reduce your heating bills! Try a draught excluder strip made for doors readily available at any DIY store.
