does anyone have experience of buying insulation "seconds" i.e. off spec insulation. specifically for PIR sheets I assume it would mean slightly damaged sheets e.g. with damaged edges etc. but possibly would also mean not blown properly or wrong density. would such stuff be suitable for floor insulation ?. given it would not have to be airtight like cavity insulation would..

we got insulation seconds for my build. The reason they were seconds is that the name of the company wasnt printed on the foil, others were bits of the corners were snapped.

How do you get seconds? Is it just a case of contacting the rep or company directly?

i have seen seconds with no foil backing, brown paper exposed.
Seriously compromised and no way would the iab cert be applicable in this state.

    False economy in my opinion.
