Hey ppl!! As the title says, thinking of maybe gettin an Xbox for fun as they look good and alot of my friends have 1. Also want to see how MW2 is on it. So, do u think it is worth getting one. I already have a PS3. AND WHAT XBOX SHOULD I GET?? WHY CANT THERE ONLY BE 1??

It's entirely up to you. If you can afford it (don't forget about the monthly charge), then why not.

I personally wouldn't bother as having the same game on two machines seems silly and a complete waste of money. What can it do that my PS3 can't?

Again, that's just my opinion. Feel free to spend your own money on whatever you want.

I have both ps3 and 360, in my opinion the the 360 is better for online gaming , you can get a years sub for 36 euro , go on facebook/twitter, if you have sky multi-room you can also watch it through your 360. I much prefer the more comfortable joypad of the 360.
I would get the 360 elite if you do decide to pick one up

In the end its your choice , if you have the money go for it.

    Good luck.

I love my xbox but I'm on my second, and my brothers are on their second too. I've a mate on his third. The rings of death vs more games / better feel and better online gaming.

I'm also using NTL 10mb connection and run into connectivity problems and dropping of xbox live with it now and again . I didn't however have these problems with NTL 20mb and other service providers in the past though.

My mate on the other hand plays COD beside me on his PS3 (nerd central I know!) and apart from yesterday and the leap year hiccup he has very little network problems.

If the xbox was more stable it would win hands down and with all your mates playing it. It all boils down to whether you can afford it and if you want to take the risk of the rings of death.

I would say no, unless your loaded of course:)
I got a xbox last november and dont use it much bar a bit of Forza. Picked up mw2 for it about 3 weeks ago and traded it in because it was so far behind the ps3 version imo.
    Reason:
Controller - couldnt get used to it, think the analogue sticks are much better on ps3.
Connection in public games - every game I joined I was yellow bar, prob because of american hosts
Hard to get into games - takes ages to join a game, alot quicker on ps3.
Everyone who uses a headset is American - annoying.

I think this is a bit OTT to be honest,I know its your personal experience and opinion, but when i was on other ISPs i always had a great connection, controller is way better especially for shottemups and the majority of rooms i end up in doesnt have those "annoying" Americans (which you can mute).

    I agree with trilla,

    Controller , your own opinion
Never had a problem getting games straight away. and always jumpinto an english/irish/european game.
Connection is usually very good - unless an american host...same applies to the ps3.
As to say everyone who uses a headset is american is laughable to say the least.

Back to the op this will probably turn into a flame war with everyone pushing there favoured console , best advice fo you is to borrow your mates xbox and judge for yourself whether its worth it or not.

Prefer the PS3 controller, and XBOX live is full of kids and you have to pay a subscription for it.

    Fvck that.

Depends on the games tbh, if you're interested in stuff that you wont ever get to play on PS3 like GOW (thats Gears not God) and stuff like Mass Effect or the Halo franchise then its worth it, and its nice to have the option of buying a game that may get a better version on either console like Bayonetta, but if you're getting it just for the xbox version of MW2 is pretty pointless, have owned the game on xbox then bought it again when i traded it in for a PS3, they're pretty much identical, have no preference over either pad both work just as well.

They have really improved the xbox dashboard and the features available (listed by Shammy), gives you funcationailty that is not currently available on PS3 (AFAIK)

    +1

    What monthly charge?

Up to you. I had a XBox 360 first. Was considering getting one of the new PS3's around Christmas time. Didn't in the end. Might go back at some point.

I think he is talking about the gold subscription that you have to pay to play online.

Yep. Doesn't every xbox require you to pay a monthly charge so you can play online? Or do some of the games not need it? I'm not sure, but thought you had to.

You can pay it monthly, but that works out the most expensive at about €94pa . But if you pay an annual charge it works out at about €30 a year by currency rates as they are now.
