    Hi,

I've come to a realisation that there is definitely something wrong with me mentally. I need help for sure. The only thing is I don't have money to pay for a psychiatrist at the prices they charge. Does anyone know of a very very cheap one in Dublin? I dunno if I can sort myself out without one..

If you elaborate more on the problem people would be better equipped to recommend someone, ie if its something like anxiety a good CB Therapist or hypnotherapist could be of benefit.

I'm not quite sure to be honest. I go through days where i'm utterly depressed, other days i'm in a great mood. Certain things just set me off. I can get really really angry just thinking about something someone did to me. At the moment I'm having trouble with a friend that I slept with and i have a bundle of emotions there. I sort of feel like there's no way out of any problem I have. Then other days I'd feel perfectly fine about it. I'm hopping to and from different feelings and I really don't like it.

    Hi OP,

Maybe a visit to a counsellor could be your first Port of Call. From what you've described you just sound a bit depressed or over emotional. It's doesn't mean there's anything wrong with you. But i'm not an expert, I really think you should go and talk to someone. You should be able to get a counsellor for about €40 or €50 per hour. Not sure what part of the country you're based in if you want to PM me I can give you some contact info that may be of use to you. I hope you feel better soon xxx :)

it sounds like you're ruminating rather just accepting things and moving on.

A lot of it can have to do with your mindset. For me my dad was very controlling and criticised me the whole time when I was growing up - he considered himself a perfectionist but all he really did was told me I was wrong no matter what I did, and shouted me down when I tried to argue.

As a result from I was maybe 18 I had no confidence and people easily walked over me at college and work. When I realised someone did something against me I couldn't let it go and I'd feel angry, then helpless, then depressed - for the smallest things.

People used to comment that I had mood swings but I just had problems coping... that where some counselling can help get to the root of the problem and get a new outlook on life.
