Motor tax renewal form stamped by Garda

I had to get my tax renewal form signed and stamped by a Garda to say my car had been off the road and I got that done and posted it on to the motor tax office but oddly they haven't withdrawn the money from my laser card and I'm not at home so I can't say if they sent out the tax disc..

So I'm thinking do you have to hand the renewal form in in person if you have had it signed and stamped by a Garda ?

I also didn't write in the figure for the tax renewal as they hadn't sent me out the amounts (it was a final reminder.. I just bought the car in last couple of months but hadn't got the other reminders as car wasn't in my name at that point).

Could that be the reason they haven't charged me?

possibly they have to write to you to get your aproval to deduct the amount if you didnt fill it in ?

where the garda stamped and signed, did you fill in the months it was off the road??
You don't have to go in in person with the form, just a lot of people mess it up, cos it's a bit confusing, so if it's posted in, they may have to send it back or call you about it.

Call them, they should be able to let you know what the status is.

Yeah all the months were filled in- both by the Garda for time car was off the road and then I filled in what new months I wanted tax for. The only thing left out was the figure i.e cost of the tax. Hm.. I'll just call them at this point.
