Wedding bands in galway and their costs

    Hi All,

    Im very new at this game both posting and getting married....

    We are hoping to get married this year and started off by emailing a few bands that were mentioned on here and other places. So far they all have come back with different prices

    e.g 1600, 1,350.00, 2200

    They all seem to rate ok, on the wedding scale but they all seem to be very different in price. They have said they do 2 1/2 hour play is this normal.

    The same with photographers, so far 4 have come back with the following prices and all again seem to offer a similar package.

    1800 , 1000, 1550, 1650

    I did take a look at their sample albums online and they looked good enough for me. Would be interested to see if people had the same experience and how decisions were made..

    Getting married in June in Galway and the band are charging €2200 and photographer is charging €2100. I don't have a problem paying a bit extra for the photographer as she is giving us copyright to all photos taken on the day.

    Wow, those prices sound alot... I plan on doing some SERIOUS negotiating when it comes to the band and photographer. It is a couple of hours work for them in the middle of a recession so I can't see how they can still be charging those prices.

    Have a word with the wedding organiser in the Ardilaun Hotel.
    The hotels will give you a good idea of both bands and prices.
    Get a price for your own wedding at the hotel, so you can then get a lot of additional information as well....
