Just wondering if anyone has EVER setup a DM800 to work correctly with a motor? I have spent all day today trying to get my TM2300 motor working correctly with my box. To say the DM800 has a mind of its own is an understatement. I have tried using USUALS and manually storing positions but I am not having any luck. My whole setup seems fine and I think the DM us letting me down.
    Anyone?

Yes I had problems, and when i say I i mean my professional installer! but that was nearly 6 months ago now and I got a new image for my box and it works better than ever. To get round it before I had a pass thru from my BD to a Technomate and back to move the dish, very anoyng but all it good now. Try to up ur image and see if ithelps if not im sure there is a patch you can get i read it somewhere.

Just what exactly seems to be the problem.

Has the motor previously driven a dish for you?

Can you not see anything from any satellite?

    Is the dish newly istalled?

Personally I would avoid usals as it never seemed to work for me.

Make sure your tuner settings are correct ie open up all sats you want on lnb 1 and make sure you save each satellite by ensuring you hit red and tune in the positioner menu and store each position in the right place.

It's a new dish and motor. I can hit all the satellites individually fine (If I manually move the dish). I have been choosing Configure>Advanced>MultiSat and putting all the Sats I want on LNB 1, giving them a position then saying "Use USALS - NO". I then have Thor1W locked on my 0 position and set that as so. When I search East or West, either stepping or auto search I hit nothing!

Be sure to check if the dish is moving as I had this problem myself.
I thought I was driving east and west But the dish was not moving at all, still dont know what was causing the problem.

My advice would be, put on a fta channel on whatever sat you want. With the help of someone have them monitor the sat picture quality eg the AGC and BER.

You drive the dish manually yourself using the buttons on the motor itself, your friend can tell you the quality eg the % quality you have as you do.

This might not be the easiest or most straightforward method but it will work.

Be sure to save each sat before you continue.
    MENU-SETUP-SERVICE SEARCHING -POSITIONER SETUP.
HIT RED AND MAKE SURE YOU ARE ON THE RIGHT SAT.
MOVE DOWN TO POSITIONER STORAGE AND SELECT THE NUMBER THAT YOU WANT.
    PRESS GREEN TO SAVE.

Repeat on each sat you want.

you can fine tune later if need be.

I found the 800 a lot of work to set up if im honest.

Even still when I change sats it might not register a picture eg tuner fail until I select a channel on a sat I dont get.

I find this reactivates the tuner and the pic will clear when I retune to the sat I want.

Hope this helps, once you know that you can reach each sat then the hard work is over.

Most people who have these type of problems do not have their dish correctly aligned and installed.

But you seem to be ok on this front.
