I am new to this field and I need to seek out a solicitor.

how much would you expect to pay to talk to a solicitor in this country? is it akin to what the doctor would ask for?

if he were to represent you for an hour or two, would that run into hundreds of euros. depends on how much research he needs to do, but I am talking more about having a legal presence beside me.

hope someone out there can give me a general answer.

Well there is always the free legal advice given in citizens bureau-http://www.flac.ie/ ,although they wont represent you in court. Also if your are being brought to court by the gardai you might be eligible for free legal representation.

If you are thinking of taking a civil case I dont have a clue how much they charge. Some one here will give you a better idea

You could be a bit more specific in what kind of representation you need
