Anywhere To Try Pioneer Equipment In Dublin?

Hope this is in the right section, basically I'm getting into DJing and am hoping to get proper equipment in the summer, I'm stuck between which Pioneer DJ equipment to get though.

I was wondering is there somewhere in Dublin I can try out Pioneer equipment? Specifically the CDJ 400, CDJ 900, CDJ1000 MKIII, DJM 400 and DJM 800. I had a look on the Pioneer website, the Irish website has no mention of DJ equipment at all and their EU site just has a distributor on the Naas Road.

The only thing I can think of at the moment is renting the equipment but it's €140 or so for just 1 day and only the CDJ1000 MKIII and the DJM 800.

I'm looking at the following configurations for myself: CDJ 400 & DJM 400, CDJ 400 & DJM 800 and CDJ 900/1000 MKIII & DJM 800.

They range from €2,000 to €4,000 and I want to make sure I get the one that's right for me. It's for home use and making mixes, I think I could probably go with the CDJ 400, but I'm really not sure about the mixer.

Is there anywhere in Dublin that has Pioneer equipment to try? Even someone who has it at their house kind enough to let me have a go?

Might pop into Sounds Around tomorrow after school. Sound Works was where I was referring to, I'd rather not spend €100+ just to use the equipment for 1 day though.

Exercise caution and control over your wallet in there. You can will find ANY gear cheaper else where.

If you really want cdj's, try them out in soundsaround then buy them over t'internet in the UK. decks.co.uk almost always have some good deals on cdj + mixer packages, but shop around. Put it through froogle.co.uk and maybe try ebay.

But, as previous posters have said, a good laptop and some software will do the trick for most jobs. Unless you're planning on gigging (and more importantly mixing) music, a laptop is the way to go. You can learn to mix quickly with cdjs but for most places there's no need - 99% of pubs just want music, cue next track, volume up + volume down so a bloody iPod would do!

There's a nice limited edition blue cdj400 + mixer package at the mo. You can pick these up for £1,699 STG. Dave, just be sure you want and will use these - it's a lot of money to sit gathering dust!

The 400s are great for home use - have everything you need + a flight case! It's a good deal, but you'll get the red version for around £1,499 if you shop around.

I wouldn't got for the 1000s unless you plan on becoming a "Superstar DJ"! Hope that helps!

Popped in there today and had a quick look, their prices don't seem too far off Thomann.de which is where I was originally going to purchase equipment, though they charge €339 for the Numark Omni Control and Thomann have it for €285 with free shipping. Not getting that though I was going to get the Pioneer HDJ 2000 but they just ran out of stock, they charge €299 which isn't bad.

Yeah, I was thinking of going for the CDJ 400-K but with the DJM 800, don't think I'll need the 1000s for home. They have a good price on the standard CDJ 400s though.

    DO NOT GO TO SOUNDSAROUND

been robbed in there many times, even though i bought my first gemini turntables in there then my 1210s soon after.

http://www.xmusic.ie/ is out by the red cow, and though i havent been inside their showroom yet i hear its amazing.

    AND they match thomann prices.

Just back from Aquarius, just want to thank you guys for telling me about them, great little shop they have there. All the Pioneer kit out on display they even have a Numark setup to a laptop and you get to use it.

I called them up at like 4:40 asked them when they closed then legged it down lol Really handy location too.

Went and bought these bad boys, I got to test them there and then, and got a quick session on the CDJ 400-K and DJM 400-K. Very solid kit.

I had a bad experience with X Music, granted they had only opened but it took 3 weeks for me to get a few percussion kits and then they left me short of a few drums. They didn't stock any pioneer at the time either and focused mainly on the digital side.

I was only suggesting sounds around to get a feel for the cdjs, not to actually buy them from them
