Yay :) It looks like a few of the Dublin Sketchers will be heading down to join ye - I'm not sure yet if I'll be able to get the time off work but I can always head down afterwards and join in for the celebratory drinks!

I know.. fingers crossed!! It's been way too long since I've been in Cork for any length of time, would be nice to have a weekend!

I've never stayed in hostels there either actually - have you any idea where is a good place to stay?! I think there's a new one on McCurtain St.?!

Yes, the Brú Bar is quite what I'd suggest, my friends stay there when visiting www.bruhostel.com

Once you know if ye are coming down to Cork, we could think about good places to draw, what you think? So far we start at Fitzgerald Park and along the Mardyke Walk towards the center. If you know any cool places, let me know and I'll put together a map or so :)

    Oh there are tons :D

Few ideas - the Elizabethan Fort up by Barrack St., St. Finbarr's Cathedral, Beamish & Crawford, Fitzgerald's Park you've mentioned, Shandon's Four Faced Liar and the Cork Butter Museum, Crawford Gallery, Patrick's Hill (or view from... depending on how the legs are..), English Market.

Pub ideas could include Tom Barry's, the Oval, An Brog, Mutton Lane Inn, Fransiscan Well.. am! I can't think :D

    Oh I miss Cork!!

Wow just found this link - gives lots of food for thought!!

Is that Vision Centre still there on North Main Street - it used to have a scaled model of the city centre in it?!

Haha, that's the problem I have at the moment - too many choices %D Well, still a bit time until the Crawl, so I'm sure we'll come up with a few great ideas!

The Cork Vision Centre seems to be there, yes, haven't been there myself so far, tho: www.corkvisioncentre.com I'll check out, I guess :)

I hope work let me off the hook!!

Think they still have the scaled model of Cork city, not sure about elizabethian fort as they have closed the walkway, but could be nice to sketch it from below! There is the quadrangle in UCC, Honan Chapel, Glucksman too, the courthouse! And lots more

Hmm, only been to Cork once for the gaming convention in the college. I'll mark the time and place down, might come along if I can persuade some of the Galway sketchers...

the City Sketchcrawl through Cork is getting closer and we're all very much looking forward to the 15th, when the whole world starts sketching!

Here's a link where you can download a flyer with further details:

If you have any questions, don't hestitate to ask.

As this event depends on weather conditions, please note that there will be no sketchcrawl when there's is bad weather (which means lashing rain, erupting volcanos and earthquakes =P).

Looking forward to a fun day!

Eh sure theres loads of shopping centres around, the art gallery, bars covered beer gardens. Hardly think a bit of rain would stop this.:P
