UK Farmers get only 3p per chicken?

    I've recently read that UK Farmers only make 3p per chicken. That seems extremely low. Is it the the equivalent in Ireland?

    That does seem very low maybe its 3p profit per chicken after feed and costs
    I dont know what chickens make in ireland but I know of chicken farms that have gone out of bussness in the last few years and some pig farms aswell.
    Dairy and beef under pressure also last year.:(

    i think i heard of 14 cent per bird in ireland
