    Hi All
I'm currently on 3's Best of Both contract but I want to move to Meteor's Connect 20 tarrif.
I'm havin some trouble understanding the procedure.
On Meteors website theres a form you use to buy your phone online, you fill in your details and your current phone number and it seems they will do all the work, but I have a feeling this only applied to pay as you go.
On Best of Both, am I required to give 30 days notice or something similar?
Says nothing in the T&A for Best of Both.
Anyone know exactly what I should do???

    Regards

    HB

you're best off ringing customer care and giving 30 days notice

You're probably right but the issue I have is that:

I cancel my account with 3 after 30 weeks notice

I walk into a Meteor store and buy a phone, tell them I want to keep my old number, they ask me what the number is and I tell them, but the number is no longer active, having been cancelled.

    Am I missing something here ?? :(

Even if you account is cancelled 3 will leave it available to port out for another 30days

Now I can finally get a decent phone (Nokia 5800)
3's line up of phones is presently pathetic......

    I'd be going for a Hero not a 5800

Yeah, one or the other really.
I work in a software company and we got some Hero's to test a while ago.
Nice phones, but at the same time we were testing the N97 mini.
For some reason I liked the N97 mini better, dunno why as I always disliked Nokia phones.
The apps for the Hero are much better though.
Basically I'm looking for a touchscreen phone with Wi-Fi and GPS.
I guess the 5800 caught my eye as its the cheapest but I might splash out on the Hero, its only €70 versus €20 for the 5800. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm ;)

Also, the Ovi maps Sat Nav is free on the Nokia, is there a similar equivalent for the Android OS?

    This is getting worse.
Just noticed now the the Hero has no FM Radio.
I always use this on my soon to be old phone while I'm walking the dog.
    Bugger
Still kinda want the Hero but that would have been nice

Ok so I took a tough decision and...................... went with the Nokia. :P
I know the HTC is a good phone but
    a. The Nokia was half the price
    b. The Nokia has a decent FM radio, (I know it seems like a small point but it was important to me)
    c. I'm already signed up to Ovi etc, so transferring was a doddle.
    d. Really decent free Sat Nav navigation.

I know the android OS will be spewing forth app by the bucketload but I'm not really into collecting apps that serve no real purpose (apart from a few really cool ones.)
So far the 5800 has impressed me, apart from learning that it doesnt recharge through USB, but thats a minor thing.
I have Opera Mobile installed and it's an excellent browser.
One strange thing I noticed though.
For the laugh I wanted to see if I could control my PC by logging into my LogMeIn account on the phone.
I found I COULD control the pc (wow) but for somereasonr, everything but simple scrolling worked i.e. I can control what ever is on the page but cannot scroll down!!!!

Anyone else com across this or something similar?

Regards and thanks for all the help/advice

Did you get an internet add on, as far as i'm aware the free sat nav is assisted gps so it will need to use some data. Just we careful with it if you've no internet add on.

Yeah I got a 250mb add on for free for the first month and a fiver a month after that.
Should be more than enough, rarely I browse outside of home and work Wi-Fi

    :p
