Could someone help me with this music file?

Alright I hope that I posted this topic in the right forum. I couldn't find anything to do with music technology or editing but anyway here's my question.
I have been able to play an interview of one of my favourite musicians/singers on Windows Media Player.
This interview track is also saved in a playlist.
In the interview he sings a few songs that are not on any of his albums as separate tracks.
So I would like to know how to cut out the talk bits and separate the interview from the songs.
If I could do this I would like to have the songs taken out from the interview as separate audio files that I can play on WMP so I can put them on my iPod or something without hearing the whole interview throughout just to listen to the songs.
If someone could help me it would be greatly appreciated!!!

Is the interview audio or video? What is the file type?

Should be possible to do what you want but need a bit more information.

I suspect that this might be a better forum for your query.

OP, use Audacity for pretty much any audio file and you can edit out your parts, and put them all together in one file if you wish or save them all seperately.

    Except WMA.

The latest beta does. You just need an additional codec.

Or just play the file as WMA in Windows Media Player, and record it to Audacity. I find this very handy for converting from awkward file formats like mobile phone recordings (amr files). There are conversion tools for most of these formats but this is the easiest way imo.

Just audio from what I'm reading. Correct me if I'm wrong OP.

That is correct it is an audio file.
I have the whole interview as a WMA file on Windows Media Player but songs are played during the interview so I want to take them out and use as individual files.
