Energy Efficient Chimney in New Build

I'm looking into how to best construct a chimney for a new masonry build. I won't be going with an open fire to watch the heat disappear though!

Is it ok to build standard chimneys then fit the stoves later and this will close off the chimney opening? Or should this be planned in advance? Does anyone have any experience with these systems? <SNIP>
