    Hi,

Im just looking for some advice.
I've been on the pill for nearly 5 years and my periods are always the same. This month, on the second last pill, i forgot to take it until the next day.. So i took it then and I took that days one before I went to bed.
    I didnt take them together.

But the day after, which was monday (yesterday) I had a bleed. But it was like the start of my period. It continued into today, Im really confused. It never comes that quick, no matter what. Im going on holiday tomorrow, for 5 days. Im really annoyed.

Anyone any idea whats wrong with me?

  • Yes. It's totally normal to bleed a little bit or even a lot if you miss a pill. The periods you get on the pill aren't real periods, they're withdrawal bleeds caused by stopping the pill for a few days. If you miss a pill, your body gets confused and often you will bleed. Your body doesn't know that it isn't your normal 'period' time - you're basically telling it what to do! Missing a pill is like giving your body bad instructions and you can't blame it for following them! I would read up on how the pill works if I were you.

Well, excuse me but there was no need for that kind of remark.

I have been on it for 5 years, as I said in my previous post. It has never happened before if I have missed a pill. That's the reason I asked. I already know "how the pill works" and I was wondering if anyone knew why it happened so quickly. It never has before.

I think I am entitled to ask a question about something I am worried about without receiving remarks like that.

I am a woman, not a child. So please don't speak to me like one.

How rude are you?? :eek:You posted here looking for advise, Jeffery Tinkling Hairdressing kindly took some time to post an accurate response, and you take offence! Yes you are acting like a child, and I find it hard to believe that someone who claims they have been on the contraceptive pill for 5 years does not know that withdrawal bleeding is extremely common when you don't take your pills on time.
