Headphones question

Hi, I wasnt sure where to put this, but though you guys would know the best. Im looking for headphones such as Wesc headphones. Id like headphones that sound good, such as the Sennheisers or Pioneeers.

I have a pair of sennheisers hd205s but theyre not great for using like while walking or on the bus, due to the size and theyre not that comfortable. But they sound great. Id like headphones that are not that big in size but sound good, sort of like Wescs. But they seem to be very expensive. Im also looking for headphones in another colour than plain black, id like them to look decent, with different colours.

Has anyone ever used those Skullcandy lowriders? I have a feeling theyre made just for look and will sound bad.

I have a spending limit of about €50.

Basically, any headphones you can recommend or any websites such as Mymemory.co.uk I should look at for buying them?

Headphones that look like these is what im after, this type of shape and size, but that sound good also:

    wesc_headphones_007.jpg

    wesc-oboe-blanery-green.jpg

Anyone know where you can get Wescs for cheap enough?

    thanks

    Muck.

I like my 205s, but my suspicion is thats due to the fact that I have a very large head. They're very tight on small heads:p

Ah right :p I find the headband on the headphones too big to walk around with or like wear a hat over them and the cups a bit rough after a few hours use. I dont really like earphones thats why...

The Wescs sounded just as good as them though when I used them, but I cant seem to find a place selling them other than online.

Ok, ive been looking at these Sennheisers hd 228's: http://www.mymemory.co.uk/DJ-and-Studio-Headphones/Sennheiser/Sennheiser-HD228-Headphones---White

Anyone ever used these? Reviews seem to be mixed. Good price for them also??

Remember im buying these mainly for when walking, on the bus etc. and will use the 205's for stuff like music production etc.

The skullcandy HESH headphones are good? I've a pair of them I've been using daily since Christmas, great sound out of them!

Picked up a paid of G.I's last week, and I have to say they are utter ****in garbage!!!!

    Worst cans I've ever used!

The wesc ones are supposed to be good alrite, they have a limited signiature series out at the moment, dim mak and the bloody beetroots designed a few pairs of em, very loud and 'look at me' kinda designs!

Not great. Have a set that were given as a present. Limited to Laptop listening. The problem with headphones that sit rather than cover the ear is that sound quality will be effected by outside noise regardless.

If you really want a good set in that HeadRider syle, Bose are the way to go.

    +1
they will be beyond a EUR50 budget but I can't imagine getting any cans that give top quality sound for that money.

Not quite what you had in mind but for several years I used a pair of Sennheiser OMX52 ear clip phones (clip on to the ear and cover most of it without a headband) and loved them. I do know that they were slated by many people because they let in every noise from outside but I found them brilliant for strolling around town or hiking while listening to music. They were not great in noisy places, but I tend to avoid those anyway. Pick them up at the airport or online in somewhere like Tower in Dublin

Hesh are reportedly heavily biased towards low freq's, the opposite of the lowriders which have pretty much no bass. Skullcandy are for vain twats.

I've had a pair of ink'd in-ear buds for about two years, and I really liked the sound out of them, which I why I bought a few pairs of the bigger ones for use while mixing and on the computer!

Perfonally find the hesh and ink'd fine, as I said, the gi's are useless!

Sorry, meant to say that, the buds that I've tried are decent, but the cables are quite brittle even by bud standards. My current senns have lasted 4 months now, which is a personal record:p

Might try and flog my lowriders and use the dosh to get some heshs.

Way out of my price range unfortunantly...

Im looking at those Hesh headphones but still look a bit big for what im after. Im guessing no one has used the Sennheiser HD 218/228/238 headphones then?
    If you have, verdict?
Any more recommendations for about 40-60€?

    HD205s are €40 in HMV :)

EDIT: Just remembered they're too big. Try the HMV site, they may have more compacts within €60.

The second wescs in your picture are called oboes and theyre in hmv galway for 45e.However,although the sound is fairly good out of them the wire started showing strain after only a month and i started getting sound from just one side which is annoying. However,HMV said i can come in and theyll replace them and i think i,m gonna give them another chance because i really liked them and they sound like they meet your needs.
Make sure you keep box and receipt though..

My spare headphones are HD 215's - really nice spacious clear rich sound off them but they're not quite punchy enough for serious DJ-ing use and they're quite big. They do a great job of damping pretty much everything out that isn't music though.

Hey guys, yeah I picked up a pair of white sennheiser 228's. Really liking them, great sound and portable. Got them for just under €30 also. Id recommend them. I didnt see any WESC's in my local hmv though a few days ago.

Hey, I am also looking for a pair of Wesc in and around the €50 if that's possible, where exactly in Dublin can you get these, I've seen them nowhere, but then again haven't really look much.

Serious problem with WESC headphones. Seen a good few pairs go like that.

Anyone tried MDR-V150's? Saw them in tesco for E17. For that price they cant be great but as long as their listenable I can never have enough cans.
